MemeCore's M token fell more than 20% to near $0.515 as traders priced in a $55.46 million unlock on Aug 2.
DeFiLlama's token-unlocks dashboard shows the release will add 0.56 percent of total supply and 4.22 percent of circulating supply, mirroring the July 3 unlock that released roughly $55 million.
The July event split $24.02 million to the community (43 percent), $12.35 million to investors (22 percent), $11.53 million to the foundation (21 percent) and $7.55 million to the team (14 percent). Derivatives data shows traders closing positions ahead of the event: open interest fell 10 percent to $19.8 million over 24 hours, per CoinGlass, a pattern that typically points to weakening bullish conviction rather than dip-buying.
The $0.515–$0.756 zone is MemeCore's next meaningful support, where buyers may attempt to absorb the added supply. If demand does not improve after tokens enter circulation, the token's price outlook could stay weak.
MemeCore's 30-day Sharpe ratio stood at 3.22 and remained elevated over the last five days, according to Messari, showing returns stayed high relative to measured volatility. The reading did not confirm that volatility had peaked, and the derivatives picture offered a clearer warning. Falling open interest alongside a declining price often points to traders unwinding leveraged positions rather than adding exposure at lower levels.
Technically, the token remains under pressure. The July 3 unlock marked the local high that sellers have defended since; nearly a month later, buyers have not reclaimed that level, leaving the broader market structure tilted lower. The Stochastic RSI is approaching oversold territory while M stays below its post-unlock breakdown zone, offering little momentum support for a reversal.
The unlock comes as other meme tokens face similar supply events, and a weak reception for MemeCore's release could weigh on the broader meme token sector, where scheduled unlocks have become a recurring source of downside pressure. If the $0.515 demand zone fails to hold, the next downside target would be set by where buyers step in after the additional supply reaches the market. For now, the market appears to treat the unlock as a near-term risk, and MemeCore's price path likely hinges on whether demand can absorb the incoming tokens.
