Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse is set to speak Aug 18 at the 500-person Wyoming Blockchain Symposium in Jackson Hole, placing XRP's regulatory path in focus as policymakers and institutional investors gather for the invitation-only event hosted by SALT and Kraken.
"The event brings together leading investors, entrepreneurs and policymakers in the digital assets ecosystem for focused discussion and executive-level networking in the Tetons," organizers said, with Garlinghouse's session "Modernizing Financial Infrastructure" scheduled for Day 2 and moderated by CNBC reporter Tanaya Macheel.
The lineup spans the regulatory and industry spectrum: SEC Chair Paul Atkins, Senator Cynthia Lummis, Galaxy's Michael Novogratz, BitGo CEO Mike Belshe, Securitize CEO Carlos Domingo, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson and Stellar Development Foundation CEO Denelle Dixon. Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon joins a fireside chat Tuesday on the state's Frontier Stable Token (FRNT), launched in January as the first fiat-backed, fully reserved digital currency issued by a US public entity, with proceeds supporting the Wyoming school foundation program.
The appearance comes as the CLARITY Act, pushed by the White House, awaits a procedural Senate vote scheduled for Sept 15 after failing to reach a final vote before the August recess. Ripple also attends a White House meeting Wednesday alongside Coinbase, a16z, Chainlink and Paradigm, with SEC Chair Atkins and Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chair Michael Selig present, according to a Semafor report.
Wyoming's policy anchor
Wyoming has positioned itself as the leading US jurisdiction for digital-asset policy, and the symposium's agenda reflects that. Gordon's fireside chat with Commissioner Joel Revill, CEO of Jackson-based Two Ocean Trust, will examine how FRNT "fortifies US dollar hegemony" while supporting state education funding, according to the governor's office.
Garlinghouse's session aligns with Ripple's years-long push to build its technology around cross-border payments and the modernization of financial systems. While organizers gave no indication of a specific XRP announcement, the discussion could touch on areas relevant to the XRP Ledger ecosystem, including institutional custody and privacy upgrades.
Regulatory calendar
The symposium lands in a crowded policy window. The CLARITY Act's Sept 15 procedural vote will test whether the White House can advance its digital-asset agenda after Senate Majority Leader John Thune scheduled the vote. White House crypto adviser Patrick Witt pushed back in July against pessimistic assessments of the bill's prospects, and senior officials negotiated with Republican senators over one of its most contentious provisions.
Ripple's Washington footprint has grown since Garlinghouse attended the White House Digital Assets Summit in early 2025 alongside Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev and Strategy's Michael Saylor. The company also had a documented White House presence in July during the signing of the stablecoin-focused GENIUS Act.
For XRP holders, the symposium offers a window into how Ripple's leadership frames the regulatory environment and institutional adoption of blockchain infrastructure. Last year's SALT event was streamed live, and organizers may repeat that coverage.
