Its primary business objective is to provide attractive risk-adjusted returns to stockholders through diligent portfolio management, operational performance, and consistent returns on capital through distributions and capital appreciation. Its segments include same-store and non-same-store. The company owns and operates approximately 113 multifamily apartment properties (including one owned through a consolidated joint venture) that contain an aggregate of 33,615 units in the Southeastern and Midwestern states: Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas. The firm owns all of its assets and conducts all its operations through Independence Realty Operating Partnership, LP.
