RAY, native token of Solana DEX Raydium, rose 61% to above $1.30 in 24 hours as StonkFun launchpad listings drove trading volume to $31.8 million.
The move traces to StonkFun, a Solana-based launchpad that integrated with Raydium's LaunchLab, a tool that lets new token projects bootstrap liquidity directly on the protocol's automated market maker. Each new listing routes trading activity and fees through Raydium, and STONK, StonkFun's platform token, posted multi-hundred-percent gains in the same window, according to protocol trading data.
Raydium allocates 12 percent of its trading fees to buybacks of RAY on the open market. As of late August 2026, those buybacks had removed more than 30 percent of RAY's circulating supply, the protocol said. That fee allocation is higher than most DeFi protocols, which typically direct the majority of fee revenue to liquidity providers rather than token repurchases.
RAY moved from the $0.80-$0.91 range to above $1.30 during the session, a jump that reflects how much attention the launchpad-driven activity attracted. The integration also shows Raydium's bet on becoming infrastructure for the Solana token lifecycle rather than just a swap interface — projects launch on its rails, trade on its pools, and generate fees that flow back into the token.
The STONK token's explosive gains carry a cautionary note. Multi-hundred-percent moves in newly launched tokens are exciting on the way up and punishing on the way down. Much of the trading volume driving RAY's rally could be speculative and short-lived. If StonkFun's momentum fades, so could the elevated fee revenue and trading activity supporting RAY's price.
The buyback mechanism provides some structural price support, but 61 percent single-day moves rarely hold without continued demand. The key metric to track is whether daily trading volume on Raydium stays elevated in the weeks after StonkFun's integration, or reverts to pre-surge levels. Solana's DeFi sector has competing venues, including Jupiter and Orca, vying for the same liquidity flows, and Raydium's bet is that embedding itself in the token launch process will keep volume sticky.
For investors, the durability of the rally hinges on whether the launchpad integration attracts sustained trading demand on the Solana DEX. If volume reverts, RAY's price could give back much of the gain despite the buyback tailwind.
