Wix.com Ltd. faces a securities class action by Hagens Berman over alleged misleading statements on its vibe coding transition and financial health.
Hagens Berman, the shareholder-rights firm, said in a Sept. 7 statement that it is investigating Wix.com (WIX) on behalf of investors. The lawsuit alleges the Tel Aviv-based website-building platform made misleading statements about its shift to vibe coding, its competitive standing against rivals including Squarespace and GoDaddy, and its underlying financial condition.
Vibe coding refers to AI-assisted software development in which a developer describes intent in natural language and the model generates the code. Wix.com has leaned into the approach as it competes with Shopify and WordPress for users building AI-driven websites, a segment that has drawn heavy investment across the software sector.
Hagens Berman is seeking a lead plaintiff to represent the class, a role courts typically award to the investor holding the largest financial stake in the claims. The firm did not disclose the class period, the size of the alleged investor losses, or a lead-plaintiff deadline in its announcement.
The action adds legal uncertainty for Wix.com as it pushes deeper into AI-assisted development, a strategic bet that carries execution risk. A securities class action can expose a company to substantial settlement or judgment costs, and the allegations could weigh on investor confidence in the NASDAQ-listed stock's growth outlook.
Investors will watch for the court to certify the class and set a lead-plaintiff deadline, which typically falls within weeks of a filing. Wix.com has not yet responded publicly to the allegations, and its next earnings report will offer a fresh read on the financial health at the center of the claims.
