WLFI Approves $5M 'Super Node' Program For Direct Team Access
World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a cryptocurrency venture associated with the Trump family, has implemented a new tiered staking program after it was approved by a 99% majority vote last Thursday. The program's top tier designates investors as "Super Nodes" if they lock up 50 million WLFI tokens, worth approximately $5 million, for a period of 180 days. This status grants them priority access to negotiate partnership opportunities directly with the project's business development and executive teams.
A lower "Node" tier is available for investors who stake 10 million WLFI, or about $1 million. This tier provides direct over-the-counter (OTC) conversion access for stablecoins like USDT and USDC into the project's USD1 stablecoin. The stated goal of the new system is to redirect arbitrage profits from institutional market makers to long-term token holders and incentivize deeper participation in the project's governance.
Venture Generates Over $460M for Trump Family, Raising Scrutiny
The pay-for-access structure sharpens the focus on the venture's close ties to the Trump family. According to a Reuters analysis, the family earned more than $460 million from WLFI in the first half of 2025 alone. Under the project's terms, 75% of proceeds from all new token sales are directed to the Trump family, meaning a $5 million "Super Node" investment effectively sends $3.75 million to them.
The arrangement has drawn criticism from government ethics experts and some token holders. Following inquiries about the program, a section of the WLFI website titled "Meet our team," which listed Eric, Donald Jr., and Barron Trump, was removed. While a company spokesman stated the access does not extend to the Trump family members themselves, the proposal appears to pivot away from the project's initial pledge to democratize finance. Community members have also voiced concerns that the staking requirements unfairly benefit the team, which holds billions of unlocked tokens, while many early investors remain locked.
