Cardano was featured on the official website of the Olympic Games after the Cardano Foundation signed a three-year partnership with the Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB), marking one of the highest-profile institutional endorsements for a public blockchain.
"The partnership extends beyond mere technical upgrades," Emanuel Rego, chief executive officer of the Brazilian Olympic Committee, said in a statement. Rego stressed the effort to educate the sporting community on the potential of blockchain technology.
The initiative is structured around four pillars — identity, fan engagement, equipment tracking and governance — with the goal of establishing the COB as a global benchmark for how sports organizations operate on a public blockchain. The Cardano Foundation said the integration process is already underway, with the first executive workshop recently concluded and practical institutional pilot projects expected to launch in the coming months.
The Olympic Games website mention gives Cardano prominent visibility among a global audience, potentially attracting new institutional partners to the ecosystem. The development comes as crypto exchange Kraken separately signed on as the Official Crypto Exchange Supporter for the FIFA World Cup 2026 across North America and Europe, reflecting a broader push by blockchain companies into major sports partnerships.
