Embraer SA reported its highest-ever first-quarter revenue of US$1.4 billion, a 31% year-over-year increase, as the Brazilian planemaker ramped up aircraft deliveries to the highest level in a decade.
"The results mark the "company's strongest first quarter revenue in its history, alongside the highest first-quarter aircraft deliveries in a decade and another record backlog," President and CEO Francisco Gomes Neto said in a statement.
The robust top-line growth and record backlog underscore strong global demand for Embraer's aircraft, particularly in its defense and commercial segments. However, adjusted net income fell to US$27.7 million from US$50 million a year earlier, reflecting higher investment costs.
Defense and Commercial Aviation Lead Growth
The Defense & Security division was the standout performer, with revenue soaring 63% year-over-year to US$227 million. The unit's adjusted EBIT margin expanded dramatically to 17% from -1.6% a year ago, driven by the KC-390 transport aircraft program.
Commercial Aviation revenue grew 45% to US$293 million on higher volumes and pricing. The Executive Jets division saw revenue climb 30% to US$418 million, while the Services & Support segment posted a 15% increase to US$490 million.
The surge in deliveries to 44 aircraft indicates Embraer is making progress on leveling production and overcoming prior supply-chain constraints. The company's sixth consecutive record-high backlog of US$32.1 billion provides significant revenue visibility for the coming years. Investors will be watching the company's ability to convert this backlog into deliveries and improve bottom-line profitability throughout the remainder of 2026.
