Nike's NKE stock is now trading onchain through the Sunrise initiative on Solana, with Backpack Securities as issuer, as the tokenized RWA market reaches $39.2 billion.

Nike's NKE tokenized equity launched on Solana on Sept. 8 via Sunrise, with Backpack Securities as issuer, expanding the network's $4.1 billion RWA market.
The listing was announced through Solana's official X account, which confirmed the collaboration with Backpack Securities. RWA.xyz data places Solana's tokenized asset value at approximately $4.1 billion as of late August, spanning treasuries, funds, private credit, equities, and commodities.
The broader tokenized RWA market reached $39.2 billion in distributed value on Sept. 8, according to RWA.xyz, up from roughly $12 billion in mid-2025. Tokenized U.S. Treasury funds account for about $15.9 billion of that total, while tokenized credit contributes another $8 billion.
Nike's entry gives Solana users direct exposure to a blue-chip consumer stock through an onchain market designed for continuous trading. The question now is whether additional major brands follow Nike's listing and how Backpack Securities expands its issuer book — the two variables that will determine whether Solana becomes a primary venue for tokenized equities.
The listing places Nike alongside a growing roster of asset managers and issuers on Solana. The network's institutional roster already includes products and initiatives involving BlackRock, Franklin Templeton, Apollo, VanEck, and WisdomTree, according to RWA.xyz. Solana reported approximately $3.7 billion of non-stablecoin RWA value by late July 2026.
Nike's move differs from fund tokenization in a key respect: it brings a specific company's equity onchain rather than a pooled investment vehicle. That puts it in the same category as Ondo's tokenized stock offerings, which span hundreds of U.S. equities and ETFs across multiple blockchains, and Superstate's Opening Bell infrastructure, which allows public companies to tokenize actual registered shares on Ethereum and Solana.
The competitive field for tokenized equities is expanding. BNB Chain reported more than 700 tokenized stocks and ETFs available across its ecosystem by June 2026. Ondo has grown its tokenized stock business rapidly, partnering with Broadridge in 2026 to provide shareholder communications and proxy-voting infrastructure for custodial tokenized securities in the U.S.
For Solana, the Sunrise listing tests whether the network's high throughput and low transaction costs can attract issuers seeking broad onchain distribution. RWA.xyz ranks Solana as one of the largest RWA networks outside Ethereum, with approximately $4.1 billion in tokenized value at the end of August. Ethereum leads with roughly $17.3 billion, while BNB Chain holds about $5.7 billion.
The tokenized equity market remains early-stage relative to tokenized Treasuries, which dominate the RWA category. But the direction is clear: asset managers and now consumer brands are bringing traditional securities onto blockchain infrastructure, and the platforms that can demonstrate regulatory compliance, liquidity, and distribution are positioned to capture the next wave of issuance.
For Solana, the near-term signal to watch is whether Backpack Securities adds more issuers to its book and whether other consumer brands follow Nike's lead. Each additional listing would strengthen the case that Solana can serve as a venue for tokenized equities at scale, not just a home for crypto-native assets.
