Orosur Mining Inc. (TSXV:OMI, AIM:OMI) reported a significant gold intercept of 23.45 meters grading 2.98 grams per tonne (g/t) at its Anzá project in Colombia, extending a new zone of mineralization discovered 100 meters west of the main Pepas deposit.
"It is encouraging to see Anzá now beginning to delivery on its promise," Brad George, CEO of Orosur Mining, said. "Pepas now has a resource, with more being found nearby, APTA being drilled and El Cedro yet to come."
The latest results include several thick, near-surface intercepts, most notably from hole PEP090, which stepped out 30 meters to the northwest of previous drilling. Other key results were 16.1 meters at 2.68 g/t gold in hole PEP085 and 21.7 meters at 1.42 g/t gold in hole PEP087. The company has temporarily moved the drill rig to other targets to allow for geological analysis before returning to define the size of the Pepas West zone.
The discovery of Pepas West adds a new dimension to the Anzá project, which is located in Colombia's prolific Mid-Cauca gold belt. The main Pepas deposit has a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate published in February 2026. The latest drilling at Pepas West suggests the potential for a larger, multi-deposit system. Work has also resumed at the APTA prospect, where nearly 39,000 meters of historical drilling have identified a substantial epithermal gold system.
Pepas West Expansion
The Pepas West zone was first identified in early 2025 but follow-up drilling only commenced after the completion of the main Pepas MRE. Hole PEP090, the 30-meter step-out, confirmed mineralization over a strike length of at least 100 meters, which remains open. The results demonstrate geological similarity to the main Pepas ore body and are considered highly encouraging by the company's geologists.
Broader Anzá Project
Orosur controls 100% of the 330-square-kilometer Anzá project after acquiring the stakes of former joint venture partners Newmont Mining and Agnico Eagle Mines. Beyond Pepas and APTA, the company is advancing the El Cedro prospect, a cluster of gold porphyry intrusions in the southern part of the project area. Mapping and sampling programs are underway at El Cedro to define drill targets. At APTA, hole MAP-106 is currently in the target zone, testing new geological concepts aimed at moving the prospect toward a resource estimate.
