SKALE Launches 'Surge' Program Backed by $49.5M in Funding
SKALE Network, a modular EVM-compatible blockchain platform, has introduced its "Surge" loyalty program to incentivize user engagement. The project, which secured $49.5 million from prominent investors like Multicoin Capital, Arrington Capital, and ConsenSys, aims to reward participation through a points-based system. SKALE's architecture supports high-throughput decentralized applications with zero gas fees and instant transaction finality, a model it seeks to promote through this new initiative.
The Surge program is designed to track and reward a spectrum of user activities. While the ultimate goal for many participants is a potential token airdrop, SKALE has not officially confirmed such a distribution. The program functions as a mechanism to build a committed user base by tracking both social media engagement and direct on-chain interactions.
Users Earn Initial 200 Points for Social Tasks
Participants can begin accumulating points immediately by completing a series of straightforward tasks. The initial steps involve visiting the SKALE Surge platform, connecting a compatible wallet like MetaMask, and completing a user profile. Connecting a Twitter/X account and following the official SKALE account each award 100 points, providing an accessible entry for all users.
Beyond initial social tasks, the program offers deeper engagement paths for earning more significant points. Users can stake or delegate SKL tokens to network validators, a process that helps secure the network while generating rewards. Additionally, performing on-chain transactions, such as bridging assets to SKALE Chains or interacting with decentralized applications, contributes to a user's engagement history and potential point total. A referral system is also in place, rewarding users whose referrals complete the initial profile and social connection steps.
Airdrop Remains Speculative Despite Points System
While the Surge program provides a clear framework for earning points, SKALE has explicitly stated that a token airdrop is not confirmed. The initiative is currently positioned as a loyalty program. Historically, projects with similar points-based systems have often rewarded early participants with token distributions, creating strong speculation within the crypto community. However, participants should be aware that there is no guarantee of a future token reward. The program's duration has not been specified, encouraging consistent participation while the campaign remains active.
