XRP Ledger 3.3.0 ships five feature amendments, yet validator votes — not the release — decide mainnet activation.
XRP Ledger released xrpld 3.3.0 on Aug. 6, adding five feature amendments for privacy, batching, delegation, sponsorship, and token controls that await validator approval.
Jazzi Cooper, head of product at RippleX, said the release moves XRP Ledger closer to supporting global transfers, trading, collateralizing, and settling tokenized assets.
Under XRP Ledger's amendment process, each feature requires more than 80 percent support from trusted validators for two continuous weeks before activation. The software release itself does not switch on the features on mainnet.
The upgrade is a milestone for XRP Ledger's push into tokenized finance, where Ripple, JPMorgan, Mastercard, and Ondo Finance tested a tokenized Treasury redemption on the network. Validator adoption of 3.3.0 and subsequent amendment votes will determine when each capability becomes usable.
ConfidentialTransfer adds privacy for Multi-Purpose Tokens, or MPTs, using cryptography to shield individual balances and transfer amounts while letting issuers or auditors verify compliance data. BatchV1_1, based on the XLS-56 standard, packages up to eight transactions for atomic execution, including transactions across different accounts — a fit for settlement workflows where several actions must succeed together.
Batch and Permission Delegation were previously pulled before mainnet activation after bugs were found. An earlier Batch version was disabled after a flaw in transaction-signing logic; a September 2025 disclosure flagged a Permission Delegation bug that could let an unauthorized transaction charge fees to another account. Both were replaced with corrected versions, BatchV1_1 and PermissionDelegationV1_1.
Sponsor, based on XLS-68, lets another account cover transaction fees or reserve requirements while the user keeps control of the account and keys. DynamicMPT, per XLS-94, lets issuers designate selected MPT properties as mutable at creation and update those fields later.
fixCleanup3_2_0 belongs to the earlier 3.2.0 cycle, not the 3.3.0 package, which instead carries fixCleanup3_3_0 alongside the headline features. Node operators now decide whether to upgrade and support individual amendments; exact activation dates depend on validator voting.
XRP traded at $1.02, down more than 2 percent in 24 hours, as the Senate delayed the CLARITY Act vote to September, according to CoinGecko data. XRP futures open interest stood at $2.35 billion, per CoinGlass.
For XRP holders, the immediate change is technical rather than monetary. Version 3.3.0 expands the network's toolkit for privacy, multi-step settlement, delegated authority, sponsored onboarding, and configurable token issuance, but none guarantees higher XRP demand. The next verifiable milestones are validator adoption of 3.3.0, amendment support levels, and scheduled activation dates.
