Bitcoin held above $77,000 on Aug. 22, up 22.76 percent in seven days, as spot ETF inflows reached $1.92 billion over five sessions.
SoSoValue data shows spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $307 million in net inflows on Aug. 21, extending a five-session positive run. BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust captured $239 million of that total, bringing cumulative net inflows to $62.43 billion. Fidelity's Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund ranked second with $30.19 million on the day.
The weekly intake reversed a $389.7 million outflow recorded between Aug. 10 and Aug. 14, a $2.31 billion swing in demand. All U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs held $96.07 billion in net assets as of Aug. 21, equal to 6.17 percent of Bitcoin's market value, according to SoSoValue.
Strategy, the largest corporate Bitcoin holder, is sitting on roughly $1.72 billion in unrealized gains. The company holds 840,447 Bitcoin at an average purchase price of $75,385 per coin, BlockBeats reported. Bitcoin was trading at $77,342 as of 4:56 p.m. Korea time on Aug. 22, up 1.25 percent from a day earlier, according to CoinMarketCap.
Ether ETFs added $697.47 million over the same five sessions, bringing combined Bitcoin and Ether fund inflows to $2.61 billion — the strongest week since October 2025. BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust ETF led with $151 million on Aug. 21, lifting its cumulative net inflows to $12.17 billion. Combined net assets across both categories reached $110.36 billion.
The ETF demand accompanied a sharp price breakout. Bitcoin cleared $76,000 on Aug. 21 after gaining about 18 percent in two days, moving through resistance at $65,000, $70,000, and $75,000. CoinGlass data showed nearly $3 billion in crypto positions were liquidated as Bitcoin crossed $70,000, with short positions accounting for most of the losses.
Ether also moved above $2,400 during the week after gaining about 18 percent in one 24-hour period. Ether ETFs posted their largest daily intake since October 2025 on Aug. 20, when the funds collected $221 million.
The sustained inflow streak suggests institutional demand is broadening beyond a single session. With Bitcoin now trading well above Strategy's average cost basis and ETF assets at record levels, the next test will be whether inflows can hold as Bitcoin approaches the $80,000 psychological level.
