Ripple's full EU Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation license, granted by Luxembourg's CSSF, has pushed XRP Ledger accounts to a record 8.48 million as of Aug. 5, up from 7.92 million in January.
"With our EU EMI license, institutions across all 30 EEA nations can now collect, exchange, and pay out via Ripple Payments in a single regulated relationship," Ripple said.
XRPL addresses climbed from roughly 7.92 million on Jan. 1 to about 8.48 million on Wednesday, a new all-time high, according to CryptoQuant. Daily transactions reached 2,178,219 on Tuesday, up from 977,951 on Aug. 1 and the highest since June 5. Tokenization growth has been fueled by more than 60,000 stablecoin holders and over $4 billion in represented asset value.
Ripple now holds more than 70 regulatory licenses globally, and the MiCA passport lets European institutions integrate Ripple Payments without separate approvals in each member state. The company has also launched Ripple Mint for managing its RLUSD stablecoin and an XRPL Lending protocol, giving the ledger a path to capture institutional flows as the EU's crypto framework matures.
DeFi Bridge Opens $280 Million RLUSD Pool
XRP holders can now borrow against their coins on Ethereum without selling. Flare's wrapped token, FXRP, has been accepted as collateral by Sentora, which manages a $280 million lending pool of Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin, opening an isolated FXRP/RLUSD market on Morpho Blue. Access is permissionless with no whitelist required. Sentora reviewed FXRP's market behavior, oracle design, liquidity, and liquidation capacity under its institutional risk framework before signing off. Roughly 155 million FXRP has been minted since launch, against Flare's stated target of drawing 5 billion XRP into its ecosystem over six months. Flare is building a route through Smart Accounts that would let holders authorize the entire borrowing flow from an XRP Ledger wallet, with direct XRPL-to-Ethereum minting also in development.
Infrastructure Push Ahead of v3.3.0
The XRP Ledger Foundation has partnered with Ankr to deploy public XRPL nodes in New York, Singapore, Amsterdam, and San Francisco, giving developers free access to mainnet and testnet JSON-RPC endpoints without running their own servers. The rollout lands ahead of the proposed XRPL v3.3.0 upgrade, which includes amendments for zero-knowledge privacy on tokenized assets and atomic settlement, both pending validator approval. Zero-knowledge privacy would let transaction details stay confidential while remaining verifiable on the network, while atomic settlement ensures multi-part transactions either complete fully or not at all.
XRP traded near $1.06 in late July, down from a cycle peak of about $3.65 in July 2025, according to CoinGecko, with a market capitalization above $114 billion. The MiCA license removes a layer of legal uncertainty for European institutions, and the combination of regulatory clarity, DeFi rails, and pending protocol upgrades gives the ledger a concrete path to capture institutional settlement flows — provided validators approve the v3.3.0 amendments. The XRP Ledger has processed more than 4 billion transactions and moved over $1.7 trillion in value since launch, according to Ripple's published figures.
