- Solana captured 54% of global DEX spot volume, averaging $425 billion monthly
Key Takeaways:

Jito Labs turned four years of Solana infrastructure expertise into a consumer trading terminal, betting onchain execution can beat centralized exchanges.
Jito Labs launched JTX, a self-custodial Solana trading platform routing orders through infrastructure powering most of the network's 250 million daily transactions.
"It combines self-custody with execution tools that have typically only been available through more advanced trading platforms," Lucas Bruder, co-founder and chief executive officer of Jito Labs, said in a statement.
JTX debuts with spot trading across Solana assets including cbBTC, SOL, HYPE and memecoins, alongside tokenized real-world assets such as equities and exchange-traded funds. The platform charges a fee on each trade, with 80% of revenue allocated to the Jito DAO for programmatic JTO buybacks and burns through at least Q4 2027 under governance proposal JIP-38, according to the company. The remaining 20% goes to referrers.
The launch positions JTX as Solana's answer to Hyperliquid's integrated trading experience and Robinhood Chain's retail distribution. Solana captured 54% of global decentralized exchange spot market share during the first half of 2026, averaging $425 billion in monthly volume, Birdeye data shows. Tokenized equity trading on the chain generated $5.77 billion in spot volume during the second quarter, more than seven times the volume from the second half of 2025.
JTX includes a feature called "Good Trade" that benchmarks each fill against major centralized exchanges in real time, showing users whether the onchain execution was cheaper. Bruder said early results indicate majors are already cheaper to trade on Solana than on Coinbase or Kraken.
The platform targets what Bruder calls "the prosumer" — traders who want Solana's speculative breadth with the tools of a professional exchange. JTX offers resting limit orders, automated execution, and conditional orders, features typically associated with centralized platforms.
What Comes Next
JTX launches with spot markets only. Perpetual futures, prediction markets, and a native mobile application are on the roadmap, the company said. Bruder is particularly focused on tokenized equities as JTX's clearest bridge beyond crypto-native trading, with Solana already hosting multiple versions of the same stocks across different issuers and liquidity pools.
The JTO token rose 9% over the past week following the activation of JIP-38 and the JTX launch, according to CoinGecko data.
