BeOne Medicines and Revolution Medicines agreed to a clinical collaboration and regional licensing deal covering four RAS(ON) inhibitors for RAS-addicted cancers.
"The arrangement gives BeOne the opportunity to evaluate combinations between assets from our oncology pipeline and four promising RAS(ON) inhibitors," John V. Oyler, co-founder, chairman and CEO of BeOne, said.
The clinical collaboration will test BeOne's MTA-cooperative PRMT5 inhibitor BGB-58067 and its EGFR x MET x MET trispecific antibody BG-T187 with either daraxonrasib, a RAS(ON) multi-selective inhibitor, or zoldonrasib, a RAS(ON) G12D-selective inhibitor. Revolution's portfolio also includes elironrasib, a RAS(ON) G12C-selective inhibitor, and RMC-5127, a RAS(ON) G12V-selective inhibitor.
Under the regional rights agreement, BeOne gains exclusive development and commercialization rights to the four inhibitors in select Asian markets, while Revolution retains rights elsewhere including Japan and South Korea. Revolution is eligible for development and sales milestone payments and tiered royalties on net sales in the partnered region.
BeOne will fund and conduct a global registrational Phase 3 study for one of Revolution's RAS(ON) inhibitors using its in-house development platform, while Revolution continues advancing global registrational studies across its portfolio.
Mark A. Goldsmith, CEO and chairman of Revolution Medicines, said the deal reflects the company's commitment to advancing RAS(ON) inhibitors for patients around the world, including regions where it has not previously had a presence.
BeOne shares rose 5.6 percent after the announcement, according to Yahoo Finance data. The companies did not disclose financial terms, including milestone amounts or royalty rates.
RAS mutations drive roughly one-third of human cancers, making the target one of oncology's most sought-after. Revolution's tri-complex platform directly targets the active, cancer-driving state of RAS, a mechanism that has drawn broad industry interest. The four inhibitors span the most common RAS mutations — G12C, G12D and G12V — giving the collaboration coverage across a wide patient population.
For BeOne, the deal extends its reach into RAS-addicted cancers while adding regional commercialization rights that use its established footprint across Asia. The company, which trades on Nasdaq, the Hong Kong exchange and the Shanghai Stock Exchange, brings a global development platform and commercial presence to the partnership.
Investors will watch for the start of the Phase 3 study and initial combination-trial data as the next milestones. The companies said the collaboration could expand the potential impact of RAS(ON) inhibitors beyond current development programs, with the regional rights giving BeOne a route to market in Asia.
