Shares of the commercial AI robot maker Youdi Robot, also known as Excelland Robotics, closed their first Hong Kong session up 153% — the steepest opening-day advance ever recorded for a robotics listing in the city. The company debuted on the Main Board under ticker 03231.HK on Sept. 9.
The stock, which the company bills as the "first AI-conscious robotics stock," opened at HK$35 a share, implying a market value of roughly HK$14.5 billion. Livermore Securities underwrote the offering.
Backing came from a roster of heavyweight technology investors, including Alibaba, SenseTime, iFlytek and Junlian Capital, whose participation signals institutional confidence in commercial AI robotics. Youdi builds delivery and service robots for hotels, restaurants and other venues, and says its technology stack spans visual models, multi-sensor fusion and a cloud-based data loop that powers what it describes as an "AI super brain."
The debut landed on a mixed day for Hong Kong equities. The Hang Seng Index slipped 0.17% and the Hang Seng Tech Index fell 0.76%, while Haidilao dropped more than 9% and Lenovo Group and Weichai Power each added more than 6%. Brent crude futures pushed above $100 a barrel for the first time since late July on renewed Middle East tensions.
The record first-day pop gives Youdi a valuation premium to listed robotics peers and could draw more commercial AI and automation companies to Hong Kong's listing pipeline, which has been the world's busiest venue for public offerings this year. Investors will watch whether the shares hold their gains in the coming sessions and whether the strong debut pulls forward additional robotics IPOs on the exchange.
